This annual scholarship was
established in December 2004 by Centro
Cultural Cubano of
Award: $1,000
tuition credit, awarded $500 in the fall and $500 in the spring. The spring
award is contingent upon maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average
of 3.0 and continued full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 semester credit
hours).
Qualifications
and Selection Process:

Must be a student enrolled on a full-time basis (minimum
of 12 semester credit hours) as an undergraduate and completed at least 48
hours by the semester in which the scholarship will be first disbursed. |

|
Must have declared a major in Spanish. |
|
|
Must have an overall cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.0,
based on a 4.0 scale. |
|
|
Among equally qualified applicants, preference will be
given to students demonstrating a need for financial assistance as determined
by the Office of Student Financial Aid. |

Requirements:

Completed Centro Cultural Cubano Scholarship application,
including a 300-word essay in Spanish addressing interest in the study of the
Spanish language, and a 100-or-more-word essay in English addressing a

|
One letter of recommendation from a university professor
who is familiar with the applicant’s academic work. |
